The plastic at the top of the original handle broke. This provided a perfect replacement and is even an improvement with the metal plate and washers used to distribute the forces on the now very brittle fiberglass door panel.
After careful review of repair options for the driver's side door handle, I chose this one that David sells. It arrived in the mail and I was pleasantly surprised on how well it matched. Not a perfect match, but close enough. Especially considering that I don't believe I'll have to replace it again. I've got installed and this thing is much more stronger than the original. We are very pleased. Thanks David!

Great fit, solid construction. Should last longer than the OEM one.
Got both left and right door pulls painted. Matched pretty well. Would match better once I clean up my old dirty door cards.
handle fit perfect , looks great. screw that hold the lower portion of the handle need to be better, the head stripped out. The top screw didn't fit at all, the one that's behind the switch was to thick. Not a big deal but not easy sourcing your own.
